Updating your firmware for your remote and board is the best way to keep your dot.BOARD running smoothly with the latest safety features. Please periodically check for updates to make sure you are kept up with the latest releases.
Open up the dot Hub Tool, if you need to install it, please click here for instructions.
Once open, you should be greeted with this screen, this is the interface you will use to update the remote/board:
Plug in your remote controller with the supplied Micro USB cable, and the 4 clear dots on the top will turn green. This means that the computer has detected the remote. Please see the screenshot below, the 4 green dots have been highlighted with a red rectangle:
The latest version of the firmware is available from the "Check Internet Version", click this and it will fetch the latest version.
It will display the latest firmware number here:
Click "Update Firmware", this will start the update process. The progress bar will move from left to right, and when then the bar reaches 100%, the update is complete.
It will then prompt to update the board, please press "Yes" as we will make sure both the board and the remote are up to date. It will bring up a series of prompts, please follow these prompts and plug the Micro USB cable into the board, the input is located in the charging port. Please note that the board is not required to be on charge at the time, please disconnect the power charger when updating.
Repeat the above steps with the board instead of the remote, and update to the latest firmware.
Once both the remote and board are updated, the update is complete. You are now ready with the latest firmware.
